FlatStrike – Privacy Policy

1. What FlatStrike Does

FlatStrike is a browser extension that helps users organize their apartment search in Germany. It works on supported real estate portals and provides tools such as commute calculation, note-taking, and listing tracking.

2. Data We Collect

• Email address — collected via Firebase Authentication (Google Sign-In or email/password), used solely to authenticate your account.
• Listing URLs and review decisions — when you use features like Strike Mode or mark listings as reviewed, the listing URL and your decision (e.g. yes/no) are sent to our server (api.flatstrike.com) so we can track your progress across sessions.
• User preferences — settings such as commute destination, transport mode, and quick-apply profile data are stored locally on your device using Chrome’s storage API.
• Error and crash data — anonymous technical information (e.g. stack traces, browser version) is collected via Sentry to help us diagnose and fix bugs. No personal data or listing content is included.

3. How We Use Your Data

• To authenticate you and provide a personalized experience.
• To help you organize, track, and manage your apartment search.
• To remember which listings you have already reviewed, so you don’t see them again.
• To calculate commute times via Google Maps (addresses are sent directly to Google Maps and are not stored by FlatStrike).
• To monitor and improve the stability of the extension (via Sentry error tracking).

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or transfer your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising, analytics, or profiling. Data is only shared with:

• Google — for authentication (Google Sign-In) and commute calculation (Google Maps). Google’s own privacy policy applies to these services.
• Firebase (Google) — for user authentication and account management. Firebase’s privacy policy applies.
• Sentry — for error and crash reporting. Only anonymous technical data is transmitted. Sentry’s privacy policy applies.

5. Data Storage & Security

User preferences are stored locally on your device. Listing review data is stored on our server (api.flatstrike.com) and associated with your authenticated account. Account authentication is handled via Firebase authentication tokens transmitted over HTTPS. All communication between the extension and our server uses HTTPS. We do not store passwords.

6. Your Rights

You can stop using FlatStrike at any time by uninstalling the extension. If you wish to request deletion of any data associated with your account, please contact us at the email below.
